This work has many color photographs and color plates of the uniforms and insignia of the National Socialist German Workers' Party ("Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei") or NSDAP. It first covers the lay-out of the organization rank structure from 1932 through 1945. It has original color plates from Nazi German publications showing the different caps, ranks and collar patches. Chapter Two discusses "The Ortsgruppe" which was the local level of the Nazi Party. Fine examples of uniforms are shown by both original and uniform display photos. This pattern is continued thereafter. The book is good for the military hobbyist and student of World War II.Other chapters cover:Ch. 3: The Kreis - District level, similar to a county.Ch. 4: The Gau - similar to the state level. The head was the "Gauleiter".Ch. 5: The Reich - national level. In change of national level departments. The men were known as "Reichsleiters". Again nice photos of the men, their tunics, shoulder boards, etc.Ch. 6: NS Schools and Party Court. This was the party school system and court system (to rule on party cases and disputes).Ch. 7: Headgear.Ch. 8: Pennants and Flags. Including vehicle pennants or "Hoheitstrager".Ch. 9: Armbands.Ch. 10: Collar Tabs.Ch. 11: Medals and Regalia.Ch. 12: Period Publications and Documents.Footnote: This book does rely heavily on another book listed in its bibliography: "Cloth Insignia of the NSDAP & SA" by John R. Angolia, R. James Bender Publishing Co. (1985). I own that book as well and have reviewed it (rating it at 5 stars). It has been out of print for a number of years.

As is typical, Schiffer publications are of a high quality production. Photographs are reproduced in exacting clarity, making the items as close as you get to touching them. In this volume, Jeff Clark has been able to assemble an extensive collection of related uniform pieces that is amazing, especially given the "de-nazification" programs initiated by the Allies after WWII, where such historical things were destroyed.Further, his text explaining the para-military rank structure of these largely political/government entities (non-military), opens the door to a whole new arena of understanding what is seen . . . be it in museums, collections, original photographs, or film. I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to better understand what the common German civilian of this era was surrounded by on a daily basis . . . and the greater influence it had on the population.

very good book, exellent photo's, text could have been a little bigger. i would have liked to see more on the nsdap ( napola ) school system. also, more info on the nsdap court system.

Another winner from schiffer publishing company. They always seem to put out the best reference books in the third reich area. While i'm not a collector of uniforms, I do enjoy studying the photographs and info in this book. This reference covers a great portion of the nsdap uniforms and has excellent photos to show in the field and being displayed in private collections. Although i have more of an interest in the german armed forces rather than the beureaucrats, I still find this interesting, and this would go well with any other reference material for uniforms and regalia.

Hello, I am Ob Gyn from from Mexico, I use do not write reviews, I think I know most important textbooks of Ob Gyn from American authors, it is strange to me thatthis book has just one poor review. This review does not related to the great job that authors made, it is about a failed version of kindle, a technical fact not related with the gyn ob ultrasound knowledge that this book contentsI knew Callen's textbook many years ago in Spanish language, I liked this book very much since then.The evolution of ultrasound knowledge as the equipment is amazing, and this textbook has all of it. The text is so good as can be the language of ultrasound, there is just enough images, however more of them would need 2 volume, in many aspects is too a fetal medicine and gynecology book. To me a very, very good book comparable to Speroff's Endocrinology , Di Saia's Gynecologic Oncology, Gabbe's Obstetrics, Zheng's Ob Gyn, Yen and Jaffe Endocrinology, Te Linde's etc It is basic and advanced Ob Gyn ultrasound, updated, deep enough, not good for those seeking basic and rapid reviews, I believe the targeted professionals are Radiologist, Sonographer and Ob Gyn. Are You one of them? If You own this book You wont regret for sure. I've learned many things with just 20 percent read until now. Almost excellent. 4.5 Stars.
